Victories!

Last night was a somewhat strange night. First of all RBC's homematch was played on a Saturday instead of a Friday. We didn't like that since many of us had to cancel our weekend-plans! Boooh... Then it started half an hour earlier than usual. Lots of supporters weren't aware of that, or forgot about that, and entered the stadium half an hour late: by that time the match was actually already played- which annoyed them a lot: RBC won 5-0 over FC Emmen! The goals followed each other with an amazingly speed and Pakito's Living on Video (RBC's 2006-2007 "goaltune") was heard almost continuously through the stadium hehe. But despite its longawaited victory after so many negativity in the media lately the crowd wasn't in a partying mood at all! Why?? Beats me! There was a really weird atmosphere in the lounge. Luckily the players were in a happy mood which was much fun. Love to joke around with Arjan Ebbinge, he's such a cool and funny guy! The supporters left relatively early this night so we finished early as well. Which was nice for a change too! It was just before 4AM so just in time to order a delicious PIZZA @Willy's !! but they kicked us gently out the store with our yummy pizza's since they closed at 4. So we finished them at William's place who luckily lives VERY nearby; if I had to bike all the way back home my precious pizza would have turned damn cold hehe. Time flies when you're having fun and I completely forgot about the AO finals! I got home around 6AM and immediately tried to check the results on the internet. Aargh no connection! Tried textmessages on television, but no results of ATP finals published?!? I went nuts! Ohh well there was nothing I could do about it so...time for bed! When I woke up I tried the internet again, and I realised the match wasn't even played yet hehe. Silly me! So I crawled back into bed, watch Roger win his 10th GS (yay!), and fell back asleep for the rest of this lazy Sunday. All was well.

Federbear everywhere

Today I received my little parcel from SW19 containing my Federbear!! Just in time for the AO finals! Federbear got himself a nice spot on my television so we can cheer together tonight, that is... if Roger doesn't crush Gonzo in only 3 straight sets!! ;) RBC plays a home match tonight so I won't get home before 5AM. Hope to see the matchpoint though!

Aussie action!

Haven't received my precious Feder-bear mascotte YET, nonetheless I'm ready for action! In just a few hours from now the Aussie Open will start on Melbourne Park: that means looooong long nights for the next two weeks! Yay now I've finally got something to watch on television when I come home from work!! At that time of night dutch television usually broadcasts only things like call-tv or webcam-babes hehe, NOT that much of pleasure for me! But I really have to make sure I don't stay up toooo long hehe! Ahhh the temptation!! Haven't seen that much of Kooyong Classic exhibition last week but I hope it's been enough preparation for Roger since he skipped Doha this year. Ohh well, he'll do just fine! Allez Rogi!

WOW!

Just had to repost this from RF.com. Roger just won TMC!! What a surprise! NOT!!! =) Wow, we're so proud! It's been a fantastic season! Now I won't bore you to death with tennis stuff till January 2007 hehe.

Roger has rounded off his terrific year, dominating the men’s tennis circuit to win the Tennis Masters Cup. He overwhelmed James Blake, claiming his third title 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 in today's championship match. Roger wrapped it all up in just 1 hour and 37 minutes. "It's quite incredible to finish off by winning the Masters Cup, the world championship so to speak," Roger said. "It's obviously a perfect end to an incredible season. I had to laugh at one stage I was playing so well, everything I tried today worked." Blake quickly discovered that the all-or-nothing approach that worked earlier in the tournament did not unsettle Roger, who had progressed to the final with a straight sets semifinal win over his 2006 nemesis, Nadal. It took Blake a full 34 minutes to get on the scoreboard, finally holding serve in the second game of the second set — and even then he had to save two breakpoints. By the third set, even Blake was applauding some of Roger’s winners. "There's nothing I could have done, he was too good," said Blake. "I've run out of adjectives to describe him on court. Just more evidence that he's the best of all time." The victory was Roger’s 29th consecutive win, improving him to 92-5 for the year and to 22-2 at the Masters Cup. His only Masters Cup loss since the start of the 2003 tournament was in last year's final.

All credits to James as well who ended a great season by upsetting even Davvy and Rafa in Shanghai!

TMC Shanghai

Pretty excited since the Tennis Masters Cup started today. ATP's top 8 playing a round robin system, always very interesting! And it started quite well with a nice victory over Nalby hehe. PAYBACK time! =) People seem to forget Roger started TMC on crutches last year!! Both Nalby and Rafa are not in good shape in my opinion, but on the other hand Davydenko is doing surprisingly great lately. So focus, Rogi!

Roger & JURA!

*Sigh* "our" Roger as ambassador of the Swiss Jura coffeemachines! Geez, right NOW I would sell TONS of them! I'd be overly enthousiastic! (I would make Big Boss Lodewijk very very happy hehe) On RF.com everybody's talking about JURA these days... We adore our Roger, I just looove those coffeemachines... Why didn't we have those flyers in store like ...two years ago?? hehe in that case I guess I wouldn't mind working 24/7 ;-)

Konnichiwa! Just a quick note to say:

YAY! YAY! YAY!

Roger just won his very first title in Tokyo! It's been a week in which (as far as we know) no-one outside of Japan got coverage of the matches, so we all logged in on rf.com and watched (very slow) live-scores, rooted and cheered together. Not perfect, but always much fun! Luckily Roger wrote his ATP blog this week, so we did get some inside info after all (>> Captain Wasabi & the amazing toilets hehe)! But as the tournament was held in Japan, the matches were "at night" so I'm off to bed now to get some more sleep! Lucky you, that way I won't bore you to death with the fan-talk, or at least NOT RIGHT NOW hehe, but I DID want to express my joy for a moment! And so I did.

Blockbuster finale

De afgelopen twee weken stonden uiteraard ook in het teken van Roland Garros. Ja ja terwijl Nederland in de ban van de World Cup is, staan wij onze Rogi aan te moedigen! Met als hoogtepunt natuurlijk afgelopen zondag 15.00 uur. DE zowel gevreesde als gedroomde finale tussen Roger en Rafa "Bananadal". Heb met mn gejuich het voetbalrumoer in de straat proberen te overstemmen, en ik denk dat dát wel gelukt is ;) Zal verder niet gaan uitwijden over de wedstrijd zelf, dat zal ik jullie voetballovers niet aandoen... Ik kan er uren over discussiëren maar dat doe ik op het forum wel hihi. Helaas niet gewonnen dus, volgend jaar dan maar! :P Dat was wel een ENORME dobber, omdat hierdoor de 'Roger Slam' niet gehaald werd, maar wie weet, misschien volgend jaar zelfs wel de calender Grand Slam! **We still believe!!**Vooruitzichten zijn goed; 2004 kwartfinale, 2005 halve finale, 2006 finale, 2007...??? Wil alleen effe uithalen naar iedereen die beweert dat Roger niet op gravel kan spelen: hij stond wél mooi in de finale op de FO, net als in alle andere gravel-toernooien eerder dit jaar! Boven alle (behalve 1 hihi) zogenaamde "gravel-specialisten", dus om nou te zeggen dat hij niet op gravel kan tennissen?? Okee, niet zo dominant als op gras, rebound ace, hard court, ... maar is toch wel veruit de nummer 2!! op gravel. Nou en als dát je slechtste ondergrond is?!? Hihi ik zie Rafa nog niet zo snel Wimbledon winnen als Roger de FO! :DDD

ow btw dit is één van de shirtjes die Judy (Prof. Godly!!!!!!; rechts) met hulp van een vriend voor ons, de HL crew, gemaakt heeft! In dat shirt zitten wij dus in spanning voor de tv haha. En nu ik toch foto's aan het posten ben...kan ik het niet laten, nog 1 keer:

Bandanadal, of BANANAdal (wajijwil) met DE beruchte BANANA! Rafa verslikte zich in de banaan (zegt hij...) waardoor hij (quelle surprise) een medical time-out vroeg... (niet dat er ook maar iets behandeld hoefde te worden hoor, zelfs geen slokje water of wat..) 2 waarschuwingen door de umpire dit GS al voor teveel tijd nemen. Let maar eens op hoeveel tijd hij met serveren neemt. Haren goed doen, schoenen/veters/sokken, handdoek, even water drinken, afgeleid door publiek, seinen met coach Toni, ... (vooral het ritueel met de 2 flesjes water!!!) Medical timeouts doen het ook steeds beter...En moet je opletten wat dat vaak met de tegenstander doet... Misselijk! Nee, het mag dan misschien in het dagelijks leven een goed mens zijn, maar sportief vind ik hem niet... En tennissen kan hij echt wel hoor, dat beweer ik niet, maar ik vind zijn spel gewoon niet mooi 0:-) krachttennis, bleeeeh.....

Mission accomplished!

Vanochtend het vrolijke bericht ontvangen dat de Red Envelope voor Indian Wells is overhandigd! :) Voor wie niet van deze geschiedenis op de hoogte is: sinds Wimbledon '03 verzamelen we, de die-hard fans van RF.com, voor elk toernooi onze kleine goodluck-messages voor Roger in een rode envelop en één van ons probeert deze tijdens het betreffende toernooi aan hem te overhandigen. Dat is soms een hele onderneming en we zijn dan ook altijd erg blij en trots als het ons weer gelukt is! Helemaal leuk is het als je op tv "onze" envelop dan in beeld ziet!! :D Hoezo pathetic?? :P De RE courier was dit keer Silvy aka Fightclubber. Ze vloog hiervoor helemaal van Argentinië naar Californië! Woot!Woot! Here's to Silvy!! :) Next stop: Krist & Steerpike60 in Miami!
